About Us
Trinity Lutheran Church was founded in 1955. The nucleus of the congregation was 45 former members of St. John Lutheran Church in Elyria, Ohio. The Rev. Maurice Shackell was selected
to begin the organization of the new church. He was installed September 11, 1955 and held the
first service September 18, 1955 in the gymnasium of Grafton High School. July 1958 ground breaking ceremonies were conducted on the Rt. 82 site. Four months later, the cornerstone was
laid. Pentecost Sunday 1959, the congregation began to use its new parish hall. Cantate Sunday, May 15, 1960, the hall was dedicated.
